Miravittles Leads Way For Bears At 3-Under Par
KAILUA-KONA, Hawai’I – Sophomore Claudia Lara Miravitlles shot a 3-under par 70 to lead the California women’s golf team’s efforts in the second round of the Nanea Invitational on the Big Island on Tuesday.
After carding an even-par 73 in Monday’s first round, Miravitlles is among a group tied for 16th individually at 3-under, seven shots behind leader Anna Davis of Auburn. Senior Adora Liu, junior Jasmine Kahler and freshman Michelle Woo are all at 1-over for the tournament and in a group tied for 29th overall.
The Golden Bears are in a tie for fifth place with UCLA in the team standings at 3-under par for the tournament with the final round set for Wednesday.
Miravitlles is coming off a strong showing at the St. Andrews Links Collegiate earlier this month when she was Cal’s top finisher in stroke play, carding a 4-under for the tournament to finish in fourth place individually. She registered six birdies and three bogeys during Tuesday’s round.
Arizona State leads the 11-team field at 22-under par.
The Bears tee off at 10:30 a.m. PT Wednesday.
