FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A Fresno man was arrested in Las Vegas after police realized he had an active warrant in California on Sunday.

The incident occurred on March 19th when police responded to a shooting in the area of Samson and Martin Luther King Jr.

When they arrived, they found Perry Paul Espinosa suffering from a gunshot wound.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Espinosa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives identified 40-year-old Michael Dorsey of Fresno as the suspect in the killing.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers contacted Dorsey during an unrelated disturbance call and discovered he had an active California murder warrant.

Dorsey was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he is awaiting an extradition hearing.
