BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Employers Training Resource is offering job seekers some tips on how to nail difficult questions they might encounter during interviews.

Parades says the S.T.A.R method helps job seekers provide structured answers to questions and examples that highlight skills.
S – Situation: Describe a situation that that provides context and background to your previous experience.
T – Task: Explain your responsibilities or challenges you needed to address in your role.
A – Action: Detail specific steps you took to solve the problem or achieve a goal.
R – Results: Share the outcome
Paredes also shared several events coming up for job seekers here in Kern County.
Hard Rock Casino Tejon is holding a hiring event on Thursday, April 23, at their casino in Mettler from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The organization will be hiring security officers, EMTs and surveillance operators.

Employers Training Resource is also hosting an information session for displaced oil and gas workers on Wednesday, April 29.
The event is taking place at America’s Job Center on East Belle Terrace from 9 to 11 a.m.
