Plans for a new Navy SEAL Museum along the San Diego waterfront are moving forward.
The Port of San Diego has unanimously approved the start of a state-required environmental review for the proposed 256-million-dollar project.
Developers are proposing an 85-thousand-square-foot museum near Lane Field Park, featuring a striking, ship-inspired design along the bay. The site is currently occupied by U.S. Navy facilities.
Supporters say the project could become a major attraction and landmark for the region as the review process gets underway.Â
