TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Shawnee County Emergency Management says issues are being addressed with a pair of sirens in the Oakland neighborhood.
Two sirens were reported down, one at the Oakland pool and another at Billard Airport.
The pool siren has been fixed and tested to ensure repairs took place. Emergency management says its backup batteries died shortly after the main power was shut off for work at the pool.
Officials said the billard siren is too high to reach without the contractor responsible for it, and they’ve been called in for repairs on Monday.
The county doesn’t know of any major issues with any other sirens at this time, but you can report anything you notice at the department’s website.
