Monache graduate Monte Moore set a school record in the 800 for the Fresno Pacific men’s track team at one of the nation’s top track meets, the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday at Azusa Pacific University.
Moore, a sophomore, turned in quite the performance, finishing the 800 in 1:48.91 to break the school record. He cut 2.8 seconds off of his previous best in placing fourth.
His time now ranks No. 18 in the nation in Division II. The runners with the top 22 times will make it to the National Championships which will be held in Emporia, Kans. 22-24.Â
Moore will run at the PacWest Conference Championships at Point Loma University this weekend. Fresno Pacific is the favorite to repeat as conference champion and is ranked No. 8 in the nation.Â
