CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX26) — Clovis Mayor Pro Tem Diane Pearce has launched a bid for Fresno County supervisor in District 5, setting her sights on a 2027 special election and the full term in 2028.
Pearce announced her candidacy on Thursday for the 5th District seat, currently held by Supervisor Nathan Magsig.
She says she expects the seat to be vacated after Magsig wins his run for state Senate.
“This upcoming vacancy on the Board of Supervisors comes at a critical time for the future of this district and the entire County. We cannot allow our beautiful Fresno County to go the way of San Francisco or Los Angeles,” Pearce said. “This seat needs a proven fighter, someone that has demonstrated over and over they can be counted on to stand up, speak out boldly, and fight for our future.”
With her announcement, Pearce said she will not seek re-election to the Clovis City Council’s District 4 seat in November.
