The San Jose Police Department made several arrests in connection to a brazen daytime smash-and-grab robbery that took place several months ago.
Police said that in January, suspects used a sledgehammer to break a display at Macy’s at Westfield Valley Fair and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of high-end watches.
Police said they used automated license plate readers to track the suspects’ vehicles, but the vehicles were found empty.
After months of investigation, four suspects, ages 18 to 31, were arrested.
One was taken into custody in Bakersfield, while the other three were arrested in the Bay Area.
Two of the suspects are also linked to a similar smash-and-grab robbery on New Year’s Eve.
