A stolen vehicle was driven into a jewelry store in the 7400 block of Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento on Saturday afternoon, critically injuring an employee and prompting an active investigation, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on April 18, dispatchers received reports that a vehicle had crashed into the storefront.
Additional calls soon followed, suggesting the incident may have involved an attempted robbery.

Deputies arriving at the scene determined the vehicle was stolen and had been intentionally driven into the business.
Authorities said a security guard on site attempted to detain the driver, but the suspect ran from the area in a separate vehicle driven by an accomplice.
Officials confirmed that no property was taken from the store.
An employee inside the business at the time of the crash was hit by the vehicle and suffered critical injuries. The individual was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Crime Scene Investigators and robbery detectives responded and continue to investigate.
