FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Longtime leader in Central Valley agriculture and public service Phil Larson has died at 92.
The death of the former Fresno County Farm Bureau president and Fresno County Supervisor was announced in a statement from the Fresno County Farm Bureau.
In a message shared with the community, the organization said it is “deeply saddened” by Larson’s death, remembering him as a dedicated advocate for California agriculture and the people of the region.
Larson spent years working on behalf of farmers, ranchers and rural communities, both through his leadership with the Farm Bureau and during his time as a county supervisor.
Those who worked with him say his influence extended far beyond policy, shaping the livelihoods of families across the Central Valley.
“Phil dedicated his life to serving California agriculture and our region,” the statement read.
His impact will be felt for generations through the farmers, families, and communities he championed.
Colleagues and community members are remembering Larson for his commitment to public service and his deep ties to the agricultural community, a cornerstone of Fresno County’s economy.
The Farm Bureau extended condolences to Larson’s family, friends and all who knew him, saying he will be “greatly missed.”
