(FOX40.COM) — “Chando’s Tacos” posted a video on Facebook announcing the reopening of the business on Nov. 1, with a video from the owner, Lisandro Madrigal, saying, “This time we come back stronger than ever.”

Five days later of the reopening, on Nov. 6, Madrigal is expected to be back in court for a trial readiness conference since he pleaded not guilty to two felony domestic abuse charges.

Chando’s officials announced it’s set to reopen its Arden and Power Inn location in Sacramento on Saturday. This comes after they announced a “temporary’ closure back in July.

FOX40 previously reported that Chando’s Tacos announced the temporary closures of its restaurants on its social media this summer.

On Monday, Chando’s officials posted on Facebook that “sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward” and shared the following statement.

“We’ve worked hard to bring you better flavor, better service, and the same Chando’s love you’ve always known,” Chando’s officials said. “Sacramento, we heard you.”

Madrigal said the reason the restaurants had to close their doors was due to circumstances that were out of their control.

However, just two days after abruptly closing down Chando’s all over Sacramento, Madrigal appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to two felony domestic abuse charges.

Sacramento Superior Court documents, filed on March 26, 2024, showed that on count one, Lisandro Madrigal allegedly caused injury resulting in a traumatic condition to a woman. On the second count, it is alleged that Madrigal personally inflicted serious bodily injury to the woman.

Madrigal will be in court in the morning on Nov. 6.

When customers go to Chando’s website, they’ll see a countdown with a message of “Sacramento, we’ve missed you.”
