What we know about nanny accused of killing Oakland County grandfather
A nanny is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly stabbing a grandfather to death in his daughter’s Royal Oak home.
The attack happened around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 on Sheridan Drive near Woodward Avenue.
9-year-old girl saw hand holding cellphone from bathroom stall at Oakland County store, police say
A 9-year-old girl saw a hand holding a cellphone while she was inside a bathroom stall at a store in Oakland County, police said.
The girl and her mother were at the Michaels store at 28550 Telegraph Road in Southfield on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.
They used the restroom while inside the store and went into separate stalls, police said.
While the girl was in a stall alone, she said she saw a hand above her stall that was holding a cellphone and taking photos of her, according to authorities.
The girl shouted for her mother and said the hand belonged to a man wearing black sleeves and white shoes.
Estranged husband charged with murder 1 year after Michigan woman found dead in Chicago stairwell
A Chicago man has been charged with first-degree murder after his estranged wife, a Michigan woman, was found dead in a stairwell of his condo building a year ago.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Adam Beckerink, who is accused of killing Caitlin Tracey by throwing her over the railing of the 24th floor of the east stairwell of his South Loop condo building.
Tracey was found dead at the bottom of the stairwell on Oct. 27, 2024, after a resident had discovered a severed foot in the stairwell and reported it to the building manager, according to court documents.
Resident raises concerns over Rochester Hills intersection after seeing around 30 crashes
A Rochester Hills resident raised concerns about an intersection near her home after she said she has seen about 30 crashes there and frequently sees near misses.
Jen Damman moved to Rochester Hills five years ago. Her backyard is right next to Walton Boulevard.
She knew there would be noise, but she wasn’t expecting all the crashes.
