Old Glory DC returns home with consecutive wins after a loss in its opener while California also won last week but comes in 0-2 on the road this season. The Legion formed this season through a merger of the San Diego Legion and Rugby Football Club Los Angeles announced last July.

The Legion came from behind for a 38-31 victory over the Seattle Seawolves in Los Angeles on April 19, getting second half tries from Ben Houston, Gonzalo Bertranou and Joe Mano after trailing 15-14 at the half. Coby Miln put together a perfect kicking performance, hitting all five of his conversion attempts and adding a penalty kick, while rookie Oscar Treacy scored a try in his MLR debut and Corbin Smith also touched the try line.
Old Glory DC dominated the first half, opening a 26-0 lead on the way to a 31-14 road win over Anthem RC in Charlotte on April 18. Max Schumacher, Perry Humphries, Kirby Myhill and John Rizzo scored tries during Old Glory’s early onslaught and Ross Depperschmidt touched down in the 62nd minute to cap its scoring. Jason Robertson successfully kicked four conversions in the rout.
Miln comes in second in MLR with 41 points and Ben Sugars shares the league lead with three tries for California. Cory Daniel and Ricky Rose stand 1-2 in tackles in MLR with 55 and 49, respectively, and Robertson ranks fourth in the league with 23 points.
