About 5,500 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers were left without power in San Francisco’s Marina and Presidio neighborhoods Sunday night.

The outage was reported around 9:10 p.m., with power expected to be restored around 3 a.m. Monday, according to PG&E.

The cause of the outage was not immediately known.

The disruption follows other recent PG&E blackouts, including an outage that impacted 1,500 customers in the city’s Nob Hill neighborhood a week ago. Since a fire at a PG&E substation caused a blackout that left a third of the city without power, the utility has faced scrutiny over repeated outages.
