The remaining eight leading candidates for California governor will take part in a televised debate at Pomona College on Tuesday — one of several key debates over the next two weeks as ballots start to go out.

When and where is the debate?
The debate is from 5:30 p.m to 7 p.m. on April 28 at Pomona College’s Bridges Auditorium.
Who’s in the debate?
Candidates were invited to the debate if they had at least 1% support in recent polls from Emerson College and the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies.

Who’s hosting the debate?
The debate is being hosted by CBS in partnership with Pomona College and Asian Pacific American Public Affairs.
It will be moderated by CBS journalists including CBS Los Angeles anchor Pat Harvey, CBS Sacramento anchor Tony Lopez, CBS News California Investigates correspondent Julie Watts, CBS Bay Area anchor Ryan Yamamoto and Sara Sadhwani, an assistant professor of politics at Pomona College. CBS Los Angeles anchor Suzie Suh will be the host.
How to watch?
The debate will air across CBS-owned stations in California, including KPIX in the Bay Area. It will also stream online at CBS Bay Area and CBS News 24/7 as well as on CBS’ YouTube channels.
When is the election?
The primary election is on June 2 and the top two vote-getters, regardless of political party, will advance to the November runoff. Voting by mail and early voting begins in May.
Are there any more televised debates?
CNN will host a two-hour debate at 6 p.m. on May 5 that will be hosted by anchors Elex Michaelson and Kaitlan Collins. The list of confirmed candidates has yet to be released, but CNN says that eligible candidates must receive at least 3% support in two recent polls.
NBC4 and Telemundo 52 in Los Angeles will host a governor’s debate at 7 p.m. on May 6. The debate will also be broadcast on NBC and Telemundo’s Bay Area stations. Candidates must have at least 5% support in two recent polls to participate in the debate. The debate stage will be finalized on May 1.
The most recent debate in the governor’s race was last Wednesday, featuring the top six candidates in polling. It was the first debate since former Rep. Eric Swalwell, a leading Democratic contender, quit the race amid sexual misconduct accusations, which he denies. Before that, the candidates met for a televised debate in February.
