Somerville can take your breath away. The sensational View Park-Windsor Hills restaurant debuted in November 2024 with a stunning mahogany wood Art Deco-style room, white oak flooring, custom banquettes, and a grand piano on a modest stage where live jazz is often played. Owners Yonnie Hagos, Ajay Relan, and collaborator Issa Rae (yes, the actor and producer) brought to life something that South LA has long been lacking: a fine dining restaurant that keeps its residents from traveling outside of the neighborhood while paying tribute to Black Los Angeles history. Chef Geter Atienza prepares crudos, braised lamb shank, a Black Angus burger, and wagyu strip loin, among other supper club-style dishes. Every element of the room is elegant, as is the crowd.
Reservations are a must: Somerville remains one of the hottest seats in town. If fully booked, ask for a bar seat, which has the best vantage point of the stage.
