DUBLIN, Calif. (Gray News) – Police in California arrested a woman after they say she crashed her car and walked away, leaving her 1-year-old child behind in the vehicle.
According to California Highway Patrol – Dublin, officers found a woman walking away from a crash on Interstate 580.
After questioning the woman, they backtracked to the scene of the crash and found an injured 1-year-old child who was left behind.

Officials said thankfully, the child will be OK.
The woman faces multiple charges, but her name was not publicly released.
Officials said she was driving under the influence.
“Driving under the influence causes major judgment issues – not only do you put yourself at risk, but you also endanger others,” California Highway Patrol – Dublin wrote in a Facebook post. “Impairment is not limited to alcohol. Prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs and cannabis products can all affect a driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely.”
The agency is reminding all drivers to make responsible choices behind the wheel.
Dublin is located about 35 miles east of San Francisco.
