A San Francisco house where a family of four died in a murder-suicide last fall has sold for $2.2 million, closing less than a month after it was listed for $1.5 million.
The three-bedroom, two-bath home at 930 Monterey Blvd. in Westwood Highlands sold April 15 for $2,200,000, according to Compass listing data. It did not disclose the buyer’s name.
The property spent four days on the market after being listed March 20 for $1,499,950.
Four family members were found dead inside the house in October. Authorities later ruled the deaths a murder-suicide. Thomas Ocheltree, 57, and his daughters, ages 9 and 12, were fatally shot. Paula Truong, 53, died by suicide.
Public records show the family bought the house in 2014 for $1.35 million. Those records also show the couple later defaulted on a $2.24 million mortgage taken out in 2022, and the property was ultimately lost to foreclosure.
The Mediterranean-style house measures 1,793 square feet and sits on a 5,362-square-foot corner lot, according to the listing. Marketing materials described refinished hardwood floors, fresh interior paint, new light fixtures and southern views.
Sotheby’s International Realty represented the seller. Compass represented the buyer.
Under California law, sellers generally are not required to disclose a death on a property if it occurred more than three years earlier. Because the deaths at 930 Monterey Blvd. occurred within the past year, the issue was likely to come up with prospective buyers.
A spokesperson for Sotheby’s International Realty did not respond to a previous request for comment.
