PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — A man is dead after a gun went off in a parking lot at a popular Pigeon Forge attraction.
Police say the incident happened at Dolly Parton’s Stampede Saturday night.
Police officers responded to a call about a shot being fired around 7:30 p.m., according to WATE-TV, near the time when the first Stampede dinner show for the evening was finishing up.
When they arrived, they found two men inside a vehicle in the parking lot.
Investigators say one man told officers the gun went off and struck the other man.
The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Police have not released the names of those involved, nor have they said what led up to the gun going off.
Police also have not said whether the two men were Stampede dinner theater ticket holders.
