Alejandra Rojas receives WBC International lightweight belt after Long Beach victory

The World Boxing Council officially presented the International lightweight belt to Alejandra Rojas following her impressive victory last weekend in Long Beach.

Rojas claimed the title after defeating Chelsey Anderson, teaching one of the most significant milestones of her professional career. During the WBC’s weekly press conference, she received her belt from Mauricio Sulaimán and Marilyn Badillo.

During the ceremony, Mauricio Sulaimán praised the new champion and highlighted her potential: “I wish her the best. This is the beginning of a brilliant career.”

Alejandra Rojas shared the emotional context behind her victory: “I’m very happy, I still can’t believe it. I fought with two injuries and with my sister in the hospital, but that gave me the push I needed.”

Rojas’ victory represents not only a sporting achievement, but also a display of resilience and determination—qualities that are beginning to define her path in professional boxing.

With this title, Alejandra Rojas positions herself as one of the rising prospects to watch in the WBC lightweight division.
