Ethan Salas is not only shaking the rust off, he’s settling into a groove now.

The 19-year-old catcher homered in a third straight game in Double-A San Antonio’s 17-7 loss at Tulsa on Tuesday.

Salas went 2-for-5 with three RBIs, lifting his batting line to .305/.379/.525 through 17 games with the Missions. He also swiped his fourth base of the year but also committed his first error on an interference.

A back injury limited Salas to just 10 games last year. His home run on Saturday was his first since late 2024 at high Single-A Fort Wayne.

A lost year in 2025 dropped Salas out of MLB.com’s top-100 prospects to begin the year.

Designated hitter Leandro Cedeno (.852 OPS), second baseman Ryan Jackson (.614 OPS) and right fielder Braedon Karpathios (.537 OPS) all had two hits.

Right-hander Eric Yost (3.50 ERA) allowed five runs in 4 ⅓ innings in the start. Right-hander Andrew Dalquist (0-1, 7.94 ERA) allowed four runs—three earned—in 1 ⅔ innings.

San Antonio is 5-17.

Chihuahuas 16, Albuquerque 2: RHP Griffin Canning (1-1, 3.60 ERA) struck out four and allowed an unearned run in five innings in his fifth rehab start. Canning allowed three hits and a walk. RHP Jeremiah Estrada also continued his rehab with a strikeout and walk in a scoreless inning. Estrada topped 97 mph on the radar gun. SS Mason McCoy (.866 OPS) drove in four runs on four hits, including his fifth homer.

 

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (7-15)

South Bend 6, TinCaps 4: LF Alex McCoy (1.003 OPS) went 2-for-4 with his fifth homer and ninth double. He drove in two runs. CF Kasen Wells (.694 OPS) went 1-for-3 with an RBI, two walks and a run scored. RHP Maikel Miralles (0-3, 6.89 ERA) walked five and allowed two runs in four innings in the loss.

 

LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (12-10)

Ontario 4, Storm 3 (10): A double from RF Justin DeCriscio (.898 OPS) was the only hit off Dodgers LHP Blake Snell in his rehab appearance (3 IP, 0 ER, 6 Ks). CF Ryan Wideman (.933 OPS) went 0-for-5 but swiped his 17th base and scored a run. 3B Bradley Frye (1.055 OPS) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. RHP Winyer Chourio (2.12 ERA) struck out eight over five innings of one-run ball in the start.
