A small brush fire sparked just southwest of the Otay Lakes reservoir in Chula Vista Wednesday.
The fire was reported about 3 p.m. near Wueste Road and quickly grew to about 3 acres, according to the citizen fire monitoring group, Watch Duty.
The fire did not appear to be threatening any structures and no evacuations were immediately issued.
Around 3:45 p.m., SkyRanger 7 captured some small flames and light smoke rising from the mountainside. By 4 p.m., Cal Fire San Diego reported the fire’s spread had been stopped.
