A woman in her 80s was seriously injured Wednesday morning after being struck by a driver in North Berkeley, according to authorities.
The collision happened just after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Hearst and Grant streets, according to the Berkeley Police Department. The woman was in the eastern crosswalk on Hearst Street when the driver of a 1995 Toyota T100 hit her while traveling east, police said.
Berkeley fire department crews transported the woman to a local trauma center with significant injuries to her legs, arms and head. The driver, a San Pablo man in his 60s, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
