LYNWOOD, CA — A 7-year-old boy was found dead in a freezer in an apartment this week and his parents and grandmother were arrested.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Century station were contacted at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday by someone at the scene who reported that the child was unresponsive, and responded to the location in the 3100 block of Euclid Avenue in Lynwood to conduct a welfare check.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department also arrived at the location a short time later, where they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He was identified by the sheriff’s department as a 7-year-old boy.
The mother, 25-year-old Destiny Harrison, was arrested on suspicion of murder. The father and grandmother — Daniel Monzo, 25, and Ana Zarceno-Carcamo, 46 — were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The boy’s siblings — ages 9, 13 and 16 months — were at the scene when authorities responded. They were taken into protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
Monzon and Zarceno-Carcamo are each being held on $2 million bail, deputies said.
