37-year-old man found dead on Berkeley sidewalk | Crime and Safety

A man was found dead on a sidewalk in Downtown Berkeley at approximately 7 a.m. today, according to the Berkeley Police Department.

Reed McNally Geritz, a 37-year-old from Berkeley, was found dead after police responded to a call on the corner of Carleton Street and Acton Street about an unresponsive man.

First responders confirmed that the man was deceased with no obvious signs of foul play, according to Berkeley police, and the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau is currently working to determine the cause of death.
