Re “Don’t trust promises made on Balboa Park’s parking revenue” (April 26): I fully concur with Kate Callen’s letter to the editor. Mayor Gloria’s egregious record of reckless spending has contributed to the steady deterioration of our city’s fiscal and civic health. Now, in dire straits, he is monetizing everything in sight, as if City Hall exists to extract revenue rather than serve the public. San Diego deserves better than a mayor who seems out of his depth running the nation’s eighth-largest city. Many are asking: Can we endure this “leadership” for another two years?
