It’s Halloween week in Los Angeles, and there are plenty of spookytacular shows for ghoul music lovers to enjoy. From the wild howls of N8NOFACE to the festive serenades of Brooks Nielsen’s Helloween, and we mustn’t forget the great John Carpenter live in concert, along with the Hunchback of Notre Dame film-to-concert organ experience. There are plenty of concerts to choose from in Los Angeles this Halloween week and weekend.
1. Ela Minus at The Echoplex
Brooklyn-based electronic artist Ela Minus will light up the Echoplex on October 29 with a night of luminous synths and pulsing beats. Ela Minus crafts sleek, analog-driven techno-pop that feels both intimate and defiant—a radiant collision of club energy and DIY spirit. Danz CM opens.
2. N8NOFACE at the El Rey
On October 30, N8NoFace takes over the El Rey Theatre with his signature mix of punk urgency and darkwave electronics. His sound is a raw, rapid-fire burst of lo-fi synths and street poetry—like hardcore punk filtered through a neon-soaked nightmare. Devil’s Night / with VOWWS and PROTOCÜLTURA support.
3. Geese at The Fonda Theatre
Catch Geese and openers Racing Mount Pleasant at the Fonda Theatre on October 30. Brooklyn’s Geese fuse wiry post-punk, indie rock swagger, and youthful chaos into something electrifyingly unpredictable—like Television meets Parquet Courts on a caffeine bender.
4. Brooks Nielsen at the Hollywood Palladium
It’s not Beach Goth, but we’ll take it! Brooks Nielsen, the charismatic frontman of The Growlers, brings his Helloween celebration to the Hollywood Palladium on October 30 and 31. Expect a surreal, groovy night of surf-tinged psych rock, spooky aesthetics, and laid-back California cool.
5. Self Improvement at Zebulon
Head to Zebulon on October 30 for a free night of avant-garde energy featuring Self Improvement, Rearanged Face, and CISSI TV. Self Improvement channels noisy post-punk chaos and performance art energy—an unpredictable spectacle for fans of raw experimentation.
6. The Cult at the Shrine Auditorium
Rock legends The Cult return to the Shrine Auditorium on October 30 with support from dark electro provocateurs Patriarchy. The Cult’s anthemic blend of gothic rock and hard-driving riffs has defined generations of rebels and romantics alike.
7. Cumbiateca Halloween at Secret Location
On Halloween night, Cumbiateca throws Un Pinche Rave Cumbiero at a secret spot in DTLA—featuring Amantes Del Futuro and a lineup of DJs spinning futuristic cumbia all night. A tropical, bass-heavy haunt that’ll have skeletons shaking their hips ‘til sunrise. !Vamanos!
8. Pixel Grip at the El Rey
Chicago’s Pixel Grip brings their sultry, industrial dance grooves to the El Rey Theatre on Halloween. Blending dark synthpop, house, and queer club energy, their sound is a hypnotic mix of grit and glamour—perfect for the witching hour. Psymon Spine support.
9. Twin Temple at the Wiltern
Twin Temple conjures their satanic doo-wop ritual at The Wiltern on October 31. Mixing 1950s rock ‘n’ roll with occult swagger, the duo’s sound is equal parts Grease and goth—a seductive hymn to rock’s devilish roots. LA Witch and The Midnight Cowgirls support.
10. John Carpenter at The Belasco
The master of horror himself, John Carpenter, performs live at The Belasco on Halloween night. Expect spine-tingling synths from the director-composer’s legendary film scores—cinematic, chilling, and unmistakably Carpenter.
