BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A local organization is making sure women and children in need have the support they need.

CASA of Kern County, also known as CASA Esperanza or Court Appointed Special Advocates, connects abused and neglected children in our community with trained volunteers that support them through the court process.

The organization also helps find housing for homeless women and children.

During this year’s Give Big Kern day of giving, CASA of Kern County will be accepting donations to help support their mission.

Assistant Program Manager Erin Ortega joined ARC Bakersfield to share how donations help vulnerable communities in Kern County.
