One of the purest shooters that Yuba-Sutter has ever laid eyes on is now looking for a new home after the last-minute change Thursday that saw Faith Christian High girls basketball star Lauren Harris decommit from Long Beach State and reopen her recruitment.
Faith Christian head coach and Lauren’s father, Geoff Harris, confirmed the news on Friday that Lauren is re-evaluating her options for the next level.
Harris said Lauren’s decision came on the heels of LBSU head coach Amy Wright accepting an associate head coach position at the University of Alabama – news that broke Thursday afternoon via the LBSU website.
Geoff Harris said it played a role in Lauren’s decision to decommit.
“Yes, that was the main reason for the move,” Geoff Harris said via a DM on ‘X,’ formerly Twitter. “It’s so late in the game and that is a lot of uncertainty at this time of the year (she) felt like she needed to re-evaluate her options.”
Geoff Harris went on to say that the all-time career and single-season national 3-point champ has received “significant interest” from power four schools since her decommitment, and is thankful for the opportunity to continue to evaluate her options to play college basketball.
This is a developing story and more will be included once it becomes available.
