BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Drivers who use eastbound Highway 58 should plan for an overnight closure next week as city crews and contractors begin a series of road projects starting Monday, May 4.
Eastbound Highway 58
A nighttime full closure of the eastbound lanes of Highway 58 is planned for Monday, May 4. The lanes will be closed at Highway 99 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, as crews prepare the continuously reinforced concrete pavement west of the separator.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured around the closure to southbound Highway 99, then exiting east on White Lane, north on Highway 99, and finally to eastbound Highway 58.
Elcia Drive & Real Road
Additional closures are planned on Elcia Drive and Real Road, where crews will be performing a curb and gutter concrete pour on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 5 and 6. Paving is expected to be completed on Friday, May 8.
Parking will be restricted in work zones, with access to driveways for residents.

The city said construction work may be postponed and rescheduled without notice due to inclement weather and other unforeseen conditions.
