SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Rising comedian and impressionist Matt Friend is set to take the stage in San Diego this month, bringing his widely talked about celebrity impressions and political satire to local audiences.
Friend will perform three nights in a row, May 7 through May 9, at the American Comedy Club in downtown, which is located at 818 Sixth Avenue.
Known for his spot-on impressions of figures ranging from former President Barack Obama and current President Donald Trump to actors Jeff Goldblum and Stanley Tucci, Friend has built a massive following online, with more than 2 million followers each on Instagram and TikTok.

His profile has continued to grow rapidly in recent months, including a headline-making moment this week when he performed his impression of King Charles III directly to the British monarch.
Friend’s performances have also earned praise from major figures in entertainment and politics. At the Golden Globe Awards, actor Jamie Foxx applauded Friend’s talent, calling attention to his ability to fully embody the personalities he portrays.
In addition to live performances, Friend recently hosted coverage on the Oscars red carpet for “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
