Multiple fires reported across San Diego County — here’s where
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Fire crews are actively responding to several fires that erupted across San Diego County on Saturday, including a cluster of brush fires along Interstate 15 and at least three additional incidents in other areas, according to Cal Fire.
The largest concentration of fires, referred to as the “Mission Fire,” included 14 small blazes burning near northbound I-15 and SR-76. Officials around 2:30 p.m. confirmed that all had stopped. There was no threat to structures, and no evacuations were issued; however, road closures remained in effect as of 3:48 p.m.

In addition to the “Mission Fire,” crews are working three other incidents across the county:
In Jamul, a fire was reported around 1:37 p.m. along Highway 94 near 14720 Highway 94. Officials say there is currently no threat to structures. Limited details were immediately available.
In San Marcos, another small fire was reported around 1:47 p.m. near Calico Lane. At around 3:30 p.m., Cal Fire confirmed that forward progress on the fire was stopped shortly after it was reported. All units called to respond to the fire were canceled, except one, which monitored potential hotspots.
In the Lake Morena area, a fire initially reported as a fence fire around 12:26 p.m. on Ruddy Drive spread to nearby vegetation and eventually to a house. The fire spread around a half-acre through the vegetation and reached a house before it was contained, according to Cal Fire. Information on the extent of the damage to the house has not been confirmed.
Drivers and residents are encouraged to remain alert and avoid active fire areas while crews continue their work.
