The North Coast Optimist Club President Joe Kellejian recently announced that San Diego County Assessor Jordan Marks will be the guest speaker at the club’s Zoom meeting on Tuesday, May 12, at 4:30 p.m. Interested parties may join the Zoom meeting by contacting Jim Parrotte at jimparrotte@hotmail.com for the Zoom link to the meeting. This meeting is open to the public.

In his position as assessor, Marks oversees assessing the value of real estate and personal property, which includes aircraft and boats. As county recorder, Marks oversees the birth, death, and marriage certificates, and all real estate-related documents. Marks’ duties also include overseeing the “County of San Diego Archive” protecting people’s property records.

Marks will be making a presentation titled, “Upgrading Your Lifestyle Without Increasing Your Property Taxes: Benefits For Seniors and Veterans Homeowners”. He will be discussing how homeowners and disabled veterans can save on their property taxes today. Marks will also answer any related questions participants want to ask without them having to give out their home address.
