SAN JOSE, Calif.—Amira Brown recorded a double-double and four Spartans scored in double figures as the San José State women’s basketball team defeated Jessup, 91-84, in an exhibition game Wednesday night inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
Brown was one of two Spartans to lead the team in scoring with 21 points. Brown led the rebounding effort as well with 11 boards, six offensive and five defensive.
Rylei Waugh came off the bench to score 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Maya Anderson scored 16 points and dished out a team-high four assists.
Allie Cummins rounded out the double-figure scoring with 13 points.
Harisa Mehmedovic grabbed 10 rebounds, followed by Maya Anderson with eight and Gabriela Pato with seven.
The Spartans used a 50-point second half, taking the lead for good with 8:30 left in the game on a Cummins three-pointer.
