City of Bakersfield to host bulky waste drop-off event Saturday
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield will host another bulky waste event this upcoming weekend, bolstering the city’s “Clean City Initiative.”
The event will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to noon, located at the Mesa Marin Sports Complex, at 10315 Highway 178.
At the event, county residents will be able to drop off bulky waste items that are too large for residential trash bins for free.
Some of the accepted items include:
Electronics, like televisions and monitors
The city said some of the prohibited items are:
Construction materials or debris
Refrigerant items, like refrigerators or air conditioning units,
Household hazardous waste items
Items more than 300 pounds
The city said that residents coming to the event to get rid of bulky items should be prepared to unload their items themselves.
