An investigation is underway after an argument escalated to a shooting that left one woman dead in Rosemead.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the shooting was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Monday on the 2400 block of Strathmore Avenue. Law enforcement sources familiar with the case told NBC4 Investigates that an argument between two people occurred at the scene, leading to shots fired.
A woman, who was believed to be unhoused, was shot and taken to a nearby hospital. She ultimately died of her injuries, LASD said.
As a result of the shooting, a man was detained in the case. Officials have not said if that individual will face charges in connection with the case.
The name of the woman who died has not been released. It’s unclear what caused the argument.
