TOWN of OAKLAND — A Monday blaze destroyed three structures in the town of Oakland, according to a news release posted on the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page. No injuries were reported.
The department was dispatched to the 7000 block of South Jacksino Road at 11:50 a.m.
The first unit to arrive found a two-story house on fire, along with about a half acre of burning grass and debris spreading through a wooded area behind the building. High winds spread the fire to two other structures on the property.
Units from the Oakland, town of Superior, Parkland, Hawthorne, Poplar, Amnicon, Lakeside, Bennett, Summit and Solon Springs fire departments responded to the fire, along with four units from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. East Central Energy, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Clinic Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire had not been determined. No damage estimate was given.
