A driver was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 8 in El Cajon, according to the California Highway Patrol
The fatal collision happened around 5:30 a.m. on the westbound freeway near state Route 67, the CHP said.
At least two lanes were closed while crews worked to extricate the unidentified driver from the overturned vehicle, a spokesperson with Heartland Fire & Rescue reported.
Recent rainfall may have contributed to the vehicle overturning. The circumstances surrounding the crash were unclear.
