Part of the 210 Freeway was closed Tuesday afternoon in the northern San Fernando Valley due to police activity.
Police responded to the area after a report of an officer involved in a shooting in Sylmar. Details about the shooting and possible injuries were not immediately available.
The westbound 210 Freeway was closed for the investigation. More than a dozen LAPD patrol SUVs were stopped on the freeway near the Bledsoe Street overpass, under which a white pickup and big rig were stopped.
Police appeared to take one person into custody.
The Bledsoe Street bridge over the freeway also was closed. Eastbound lanes remained open.
