Disneyland-themed license plates may be an option for California drivers after state officials introduced plans to roll them out to benefit children’s hospitals, it was announced Tuesday.
The California State Treasurer’s Office announced plans to release the specialized licensed plate to raise funds for uncompensated healthcare services and programs for children’s hospitals in the state. Before the license plates come to fruition, the office must submit an application for the plan, approve a design and reach a preorder of at least 7,500.
Funds raised by the licensed plates would go to 13 children’s hospitals in the state. The ones in Southern California that would benefit from the revenue include:
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital
Rady Children’s Health Orange County
Rady Children’s Health San Diego
UC Davis Children’s Hospital
UC Irvine Health Children’s Hospital
UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital
UC San Diego Health Children’s Hospital
The cost for the Disneyland-themed license plats would be $50 for sequential and $103 for personalized. The annual renewal fee would be $40 or $83, respectively, in addition to registration fees.
