(FOX40.COM) — Two men were arrested on weapons and drug-related charges after a foot pursuit and vehicle search in North Sacramento, police said.
Officers with the Sacramento Police Department were patrolling April 2 in the 700 block of Plaza Avenue when they spotted a suspicious vehicle with two occupants, according to authorities.

When officers approached, Sacramento police said one suspect ran from the vehicle. After a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended him without incident.

A search of the suspect revealed an illegally possessed, loaded firearm, police said.
The second suspect was detained at the scene.
SPD stated that later officers determined he was on searchable probation and conducted a search of the vehicle, where they found another illegally possessed, loaded firearm and evidence consistent with drug sales, including about 100 unprescribed oxycodone pills.

The suspects were identified as 22-year-old Rishod Brown and 19-year-old Andrevious Ramsey, both of Sacramento, SPD said. They were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple weapons and drug-related charges.
Police stated that the incident underscores ongoing efforts by officers to address crime and improve community safety.
