BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A theft of thousands of dollars in lottery scratchers from a Ridgecrest convenience store has led to one arrest and an ongoing search for a second suspect.

On Sept. 7, 2025, at about 8 p.m., Ridgecrest Police Department officers responded to Sam’s Place at 829 W. Inyokern Road after a lottery scratcher display case was reported stolen. Police obtained surveillance footage and other evidence and determined that two suspects entered the store and worked together to steal the lottery scratcher case off the counter.
Police said more than $5,000 worth of lottery scratchers were taken during the theft.
Detectives took over the investigation and identified the suspects as Joshua Lambert, 19, and Jordan White, 23. Detectives obtained Ramey warrants, also described as pre-complaint warrants, for Lambert and White.

On April 30, 2026, Ridgecrest police were notified that Lambert had been arrested by the California City Police Department after a vehicle pursuit. A Ridgecrest police detective responded, obtained a statement from Lambert, and Lambert was subsequently booked by the California City Police Department.
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 23-year-old Jordan White. He is described as 6’5″, 300 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police said White possibly travels between Lancaster and Mojave.
