San Diego Police are investigating a homicide after a shooting left a man dead in Barrio Logan on Tuesday night.
Police received a call at around 10 p.m. Tuesday about an anonymous report of a man shot on the sidewalk at the 2000 block of National Avenue near La Central Market. Once officers arrived at the scene, they found a man, described as a 64-year-old Hispanic man, unresponsive on the ground. He was later pronounced dead.
The suspect is described by police as a man in his 20s who fled north into Chicano Park.
The Homicide Unit was notified and will be handling the investigation. Detectives will be in the area throughout the day, collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses.
