The state of California is developing a Disneyland-themed license plate and wants to know how many drivers would be interested in having one.State Treasurer Fiona Ma announced that her office is collaborating with Disneyland Resort and the California Children’s Hospital Association on the plates. Ma is the chair of the California Health Facilities Financing Authority, which is spearheading the effort. Revenue from the license plates would benefit 13 children’s hospitals across the state, including UC Davis Children’s Hospital. “Successful license plate efforts include the submittal of the application, and once the design is approved, reaching a preorder minimum of 7,500 license plates,” the treasurer’s office said. The license plates would have to be approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the license plates would cost $50, or $103 for personalized plates. Renewal fees would cost $40 for sequential plates or $83 for personalized plates in addition to standard vehicle registration fees.
