The Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance photos of a man who allegedly sexually battered a 10-year-old girl in Poway, authorities said.
The alleged assault was reported around 6 p.m. Saturday off Midland Road north of Poway Road, according to sheriff’s officials.
The victim’s friend was with her and screamed for the suspect to stop, then he fled the scene on an electric scooter, officials said. Deputies searched the area with the help of aerial support but were unable to locate a suspect, officials said.

Detectives later completed a canvas of the area.
The suspect is described as Latino, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build and complexion. He has shaved black hair, a receding hairline, large nose, acne scars, bushy eyebrows and a beard. He was last seen wearing black sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt and black shorts, detectives said.
