Over the last decade, Lucy Dacus has emerged as one of indie rock’s most beloved voices — and demand for her upcoming Castro Theatre shows reflects that.
Known for her warm, intimate sound, the queer singer-songwriter has built a loyal following around her confessional, introspective style. Even Taylor Swift is a devotee, giving Dacus a shoutout on her 2024 album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Her work in the Grammy-winning trio Boygenius — alongside Phoebe Bridgers and longtime romantic partner Julien Baker — helped propel Dacus to a new level of fame. But with the group on indefinite hiatus, she has turned her attention back to her solo career, which began with her 2016 debut, “No Burden.”
No stranger to the Bay Area, Dacus visited twice last year. In February, she previewed material from her latest album, “Forever Is a Feeling,” during an intimate Legion of Honor set in San Francisco. She even officiated weddings for free during her concert at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre in August.
Now, Dacus returns with her official “Forever Is a Feeling” tour for a two-night run in San Francisco on Monday-Tuesday, May 18-19. While the dates sold out quickly, resale tickets are still available online.
