Inspiration on the go-go-go, experiencing wonder as you wander, and uplifting sights as you tap your card at the gate: The Los Angeles Metro stations have long been known for their inspiring and layered art installations, with murals, tilework, and ceiling details often paying tribute to the spirit of the specific location.
And on May 8, three new Metro rail locations will debut after decades of planning and hard subterranean work The stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega officially open at 12:30 p.m., with music, speeches, treats, and celebratory moments happening throughout the afternoon during the Discovery Runs Deep Community Celebrations.
Many of the extension’s first riders will be staying below ground, all to soak up the splendor adorning the walls, escalator wells, and entryways. Enjoy an early peek at the creative installations inside the three stations, and the incredible artwork that will inspire Metro travelers daily from May 8 forward.
