THIS IS AN INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS PARK AREA. SO IT’S NOT RESIDENTIAL. AND IT IS, AS YOU MENTIONED, BRANDI AND MIKE OFF OF FLORIN PERKINS ROAD. VERY BUSY ROADWAY GOING THROUGH THIS AREA. AND WHAT I’VE HEARD FROM SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THIS INDUSTRIAL PARK IS THAT THEY WERE TOLD BY POLICE THAT THEY AREN’T GOING TO BE ABLE TO GO TO THEIR OFFICES AND BUSINESSES TODAY, BECAUSE THERE IS GOING TO BE AN INVESTIGATION GOING ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME. PERHAPS THEY WERE TOLD THROUGH AROUND NOON TODAY. AGAIN, STILL NO DETAILS CONFIRMED AS TO WHAT HAPPENED OUT HERE FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE TWO CSI VEHICLES, PULL INTO THE SCENE, YOU KNOW THEY’RE LOOKING AT SOMETHING. SO THOSE WORKERS SAY THAT THEY HAD HEARD THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN SOME SORT OF BURGLARY OR SHOTS FIRED. THAT HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED BY POLICE, BUT THEY WERE TOLD THAT THEY’RE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO GO TO THEIR PLACES OF BUSINESS AND WORK TODAY BECAUSE OF THIS INVESTIGATION THAT’S HAPPENING. SO WE’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO TRY TO GET SOME DETAILS ABOUT ALL THAT WENT ON OUT HERE FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. Security guard fatally shoots 1, seriously injures another after reported burglary, Sacramento police say

One person is dead, and another was injured Friday morning after a reported burglary where a security guard is believed to have fired his gun, the Sacramento Police Department said.Just after 4:30 a.m., police said they got reports of a burglary at a business in the 8500 block of Thys Court off Florin Perkins Road. Officers then got additional calls about the sounds of shots being fired.Once officers arrived, police said they found two people suspected of burglary, each with at least one gunshot wound. One was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and officers gave medical aid to the other person, but they died at the scene.The identities of the two people were not released by officials.Police said the security guard, who is believed to have fired his gun, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.Police tape is set up, blocking off Thys Court at Florin Perkins Road in the Florin Fruitridge Industrial Park area.
