Nearly 2,000 attendees were at the second annual Car Show & Fair hosted by the Assistance League of Long Beach, on May 2.
The event brought together members and the broader community for a day of filled with connection, celebration and fun.
Held at the organization’s campus, the cost-free, family-friendly event featured more than 50 classic, custom, and specialty vehicles, attracting car enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Guests explored a lively marketplace of boutique vendors offering a diverse selection of goods, including homemade jams, handcrafted jewelry, greeting cards, waxed seals, clothing, and purses.
Food trucks kept the crowd energized throughout the day, while music from a live DJ and interactive games created an atmosphere that was fun and welcoming for all ages.

Raffle prizes added an extra layer of excitement, with items ranging from gondola rides to tickets to the opening game of Long Beach’s Coast baseball team. The highlight of the day was the grand prize drawing for a Porsche driving experience, which created a buzz of anticipation across the event.
While the day was undeniably fun, it was also deeply meaningful. All proceeds from the Car Show & Fair directly support Assistance League of Long Beach’s eleven philanthropic programs, which serve thousands of individuals and families each year.
Beyond fundraising, the event aimed to increase awareness of the organization’s longstanding impact. For 85 years, Assistance League of Long Beach has served the community through programs focused on providing school uniforms to students in the Long Beach Unified School District, access to orthodontic care, mentoring and literacy support, among other services.
Title Sponsor Wilson Motor Sports Inc. was joined by Classic Sponsors Insul-Quilts Inc. and The Port of Long Beach to help bring the event to life.
Organizers described the day as both highly successful and reflective of the organization’s mission, demonstrating how community engagement and volunteer-driven efforts can come together to create meaningful impact.

St. Mary’s CARE Center
There were around 100 guests at the Bluff Park home of Justin Rudd and Ralph Millero, on May 2 for a St. Mary’s CARE Center fundraiser, which raised $40,000. The guests enjoyed camaraderie around a generous cheese board and petite chocolate chip cookies. There was a shared interest, lively conversations and a 15-minute presentation from CARE leaders, providing an opportunity to donate toward CARE’s lifesaving work.
Founded in 1986, CARE delivers HIV treatment, dental care, social services and a food bank to more than 2,500 people annually, regardless of ability to pay. Federal cuts eliminated over $1 million in funding in 2025, disrupting key services.
