Tom O’Leary co-founded Long Beach-based airplane manufacturer JetZero Inc. with Mark Page in 2021, after working as the chief operating officer at Vermont-based aviation components manufacturer Beta Technologies. Known for building blended-wing-body planes that saves on fuel costs, JetZero raised $175 million in series B financing this January, which will be used to accelerate a functioning prototype of its Z4 plane. Previously, the company landed a $235 million deal with the Department of the Air Force in 2023 to fast-track a demonstrating prototype by 2027. The startup splits its operation between Long Beach and Greensboro, North Carolina.
